Ahead of the forthcoming Olympic Games, the European Jewish Parliament (EJP) remembers the athletes killed in cold blood in a barbaric terrorist act in Munich on the 5th - 6th September 1972 which forever stained the principles of the Olympic Games. The athletes came to compete to represent their country and to realise performances which they and their children could be proud of. Their dreams were shattered in the name of hate and a distorted belief that violence is the solution instead of a barrier to peace and understanding. With each shot fired, and with each victim, the Olympic Games lost their innocence, humanity and its ideals.

EJP remembers those who died innocent and changed forever the way we all will remember the Olympics:
Moshe Weinberg; Yossef Romano; Ze'ev Friedman; David Berger; Yakov Springer; Eliezer Halfin; Yossef Gutfreund; Kehat Shorr; Mark Slavin; Andre Spitzer; Amitzur Shapira
