Britain's Zionist Federation (ZF) has launched a petition aimed at rallying its activists to lobby the British and EU institutions to designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guards (IRG) as a terrorist organisation.

A US-based think tank report has detailed surveillance by Iranian state militia of the only synagogue in the Bulgarian capital of Sofia, suggesting a terrorist attack may have been imminent. 

The European Union tightened its sanctions against Iran, in response to "serious violations of human rights" in the country.

Israeli-Iranian singer Rita Yahan-Farouz performed in the UN General Assembly Hall on Tuesday night, joining Israeli ambassador Ron Prosor and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon in their calls for closer cultural ties between the Jewish state and the Islamic Republic.
